Claude Code can now set up its own cloud sessions
Anthropic just upgraded Claude Code cloud sessions for Pro, Max, and Ultra subscribers. The AI can now automatically figure out project dependencies, network access, and required API keys to spin up and run code in the cloud with minimal manual setup.

The most frustrating part of getting AI to run your code has never been the actual logic. It is always the environment.
You pull down a repo or spin up a cloud box, only to spend the next twenty minutes fighting missing packages, permission denied errors, and misplaced environment variables. Instead of building, you end up babysitting a sandbox.
Anthropic is tackling that exact friction point. Pro, Max, and Ultra subscribers running Claude Code cloud sessions will now notice the AI handling the heavy lifting of environment setup all on its own.
A sandbox that figures itself out
According to recent updates, Claude Code cloud sessions can now autonomously analyze your project, detect required dependencies, and sort out network access permissions.
Even better, it can figure out which specific API keys the project needs to run properly. Rather than dumping an error log back into your terminal and asking you to manually configure the variables, Claude inspects the codebase, aligns the environment, and gets straight to executing.
This fits right into Anthropic’s broader push toward untethered development workflows. The team has also been rolling out Claude Duet, allowing developers to monitor active Claude Code sessions, approve diffs, and push updates directly from their phones. Meanwhile, an iOS redesign is currently testing dedicated tabs for Chats, Projects, and Code. The vision is clear: let the code execute in the cloud while you manage it from anywhere.
Why it matters
In our view, automating dependency resolution and API key management is a massive quality-of-life win that turns Claude Code from a smart terminal into a genuinely useful autonomous agent.
Most developer friction does not stem from writing syntax. It comes from the invisible glue code and tedious system configuration required to make things run. By letting Claude figure out what a project needs to stand on its own feet, Anthropic removes the constant context-switching that ruins developer flow. If you are already paying for Pro, Max, or Ultra, running isolated experiments just got significantly faster.
Across the AI landscape, the coding race is shifting away from mere token completion and toward complete environment orchestration. Cursor is introducing instant cloud hosting and auth, Devin 2.0 is aggressively cutting PR review costs, and Anthropic is polishing the end-to-end cloud developer experience. The tool that requires the least babysitting will inevitably win the daily routine.
There is, however, an obvious risk to watch. Letting an AI figure out network permissions and handle sensitive credentials inside a cloud sandbox demands rock-solid security boundaries. If the agent misinterprets permission scopes or handles secrets carelessly, the fallout goes far beyond a broken build. Keeping this gated behind paid tiers suggests Anthropic is treading carefully while building out its cloud footprint.
