Google just launched Guided Learning globally in Google Classroom and search, while overhauling Gemini and search controls for K-12 students. The education push also includes expanded AI training for teachers and new Google.org funding for classroom tools.
Google just rolled out Google Vids to all Workspace for Education users alongside 30+ free Gemini AI tools embedded directly in Google Classroom. Teachers can now whip up lesson plans and differentiated materials on the fly, with interactive NotebookLM study guides and student-facing Gems coming soon. It essentially turns schools' standard daily software into a built-in AI tutor without extra costs.
Google just opened up Gemini to teen students using Google Workspace for Education accounts across more than 100 countries, completely free of charge. The teen experience comes with built-in guardrails, automatic fact-checking, and zero chat data used for model training, while teachers get new AI lesson-planning tools in Classroom. Schools finally get a secure, supervised way to introduce GenAI to minors.
