Nace AI offers 120% cashback to lure developers to Drex Max
Nace AI just launched a 120% cashback promotion for teams switching to Drex Max, its decision model for AI agents. Developers can migrate by changing three environment variables and earn $1.20 for every dollar spent. Nace claims 1,000 browser tasks on MiniWoB++ cost $2.80 with Drex Max, compared to $31 with Claude Code and $25 with Codex.
The AI pricing war just crossed into paying you to use the API.
Nace AI is launching a 120% cashback campaign to lure teams over to Drex Max, its specialized decision model built for AI agents. Anyone switching from Jev or other decision models earns $1.20 back for every $1 spent on Drex compute.
Drop three variables, slash the bill
Migration takes minimal friction. Nace claims developers only need to swap three environment variables to redirect their agents to Drex Max.
Beyond paying developers to switch, Nace is putting benchmark numbers against major players. According to the company, running 1,000 short browser tasks on the MiniWoB++ benchmark costs $2.80 with Drex Max. The same workload reportedly runs up a $31 tab on Claude Code and $25 on Codex.
Why it matters
This is aggressive consumer-style growth hacking brought straight into the developer infra stack. For teams running high-volume browser automations where API fees add up fast, swapping three config values to run compute at a negative cost is well worth an experiment while the cash lasts.
Still, we think paying developers to use a model highlights how fragile developer lock-in really is in the agent space. Putting up cheap numbers on synthetic benchmarks is fine, but production agents need rock-solid reliability. Once the cashback window closes, teams will switch right back if Drex Max fails to match frontier models in messy real-world edge cases.
