Google's Antigravity adds Gemini Live voice mode and remote agents
Google's Antigravity just rolled out v2.29.0, adding a voice mode powered by Gemini Live so users can hand off requests to agents by speaking. The update also introduces cloud-run remote agents for Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. The rollout is rolling out gradually to all users.
Dictating complex tasks to an AI agent is often a lot faster than typing them out manually.
Google's Antigravity just pushed its v2.29.0 update. According to the changelog, the headline features are a Gemini Live-powered voice mode and cloud-based remote agents.
Talk to your agent, offload the compute
The new voice mode lets you chat with Antigravity directly and hand off requests by speaking. You can trigger it from a dedicated button in any empty message box, though Google notes the feature is rolling out gradually.
Meanwhile, remote agents are starting to roll out to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. If you are working in a cloud project, conversations and task execution now happen entirely in Google's cloud instead of chewing up your local computer's memory and CPU. The update also includes unspecified browser improvements.
Like most Google rollouts, it may take a few days for the new version to hit every user.
Why it matters
We think moving agent workloads to the cloud is a smart play. Local agents can quickly throttle a laptop, especially during multi-step coding or research tasks. Offloading that compute gives Google a very tangible incentive for users to upgrade to its Pro and Ultra tiers.
Pairing that with Gemini Live makes the handoff feel natural. Instead of meticulously framing a prompt, you can just talk through what needs to happen. The real test, of course, will be whether voice inputs handle technical syntax and messy developer jargon reliably enough in daily practice.
