Claude Code gets desktop app previews and background CI fixes

Published Reach 40

Anthropic just rolled out new developer updates to Claude Code on desktop. The tool can now preview live running applications, review code, and handle CI test failures and PRs in the background. Why it matters: It removes routine friction from development by letting Claude quietly fix broken builds without interrupting your flow.

Context switching is a notorious productivity killer for developers, especially when bouncing between a code editor, a running app preview, and failing CI dashboards.

Anthropic has rolled out a set of workflow upgrades to Claude Code on desktop designed to keep engineers in their flow.

App previews and background tasks

Claude Code on desktop can now preview running desktop applications directly inside the environment, eliminating the need to constantly flip back and forth to inspect UI changes.

Anthropic also added native code review capabilities alongside background handling for CI failures and pull requests. Instead of babysitting test pipelines, developers can let the tool diagnose CI hiccups and manage PR workflows behind the scenes.

Why it matters

AI coding assistants are clearly moving past basic autocomplete and shifting toward taking over entire development pipelines.

We think targeting CI failures and PR management is a smart move because that is where developer time gets needlessly fragmented. Handling these chores in the background frees up engineers to focus on architecture and core logic.

That said, the real test will be accuracy. If Claude’s automated CI fixes and reviews introduce subtle hallucinations, engineers will spend just as much time cleaning up after the agent. It is definitely worth trying if you already rely on Claude Code, but keeping a close eye on its background PR work remains essential.
