Claude Code Projects is getting a collaborative mode

Coding with AI has largely been a single-player game so far: one engineer, one chat window, and zero shared context.

That dynamic might be changing soon. Users noticed that Claude Code Projects recently rolled out an activity feed on the Projects page that automatically summarizes recent conversation threads.

Anthropic essentially confirmed the direction. Lydia Hallie from Anthropic teased yesterday that "we don't have multiplayer yet." That lingering "yet" did not go unnoticed across the developer community.

Laying the groundwork for teamwork

Summarizing recent threads on the Projects page looks like a modest interface update, but it hints at a deeper architectural shift.

Solo developers rarely need an aggregated activity log across different threads. When an AI tool starts organizing shared project activity in one place, it usually means a collaborative team dashboard is on the way.

Why it matters

AI coding tools today are great for solo productivity, but they break down the moment a teammate needs to step in and rebuild all the prompt context from scratch.

We think Anthropic is taking a smart, pragmatic route here. Instead of rushing into chaotic real-time co-editing, organizing and summarizing shared conversation history is a far more useful first step. If multiplayer rolls out smoothly, it will push competing AI coding assistants to stop acting like isolated personal sidekicks and start functioning as real team infrastructure.
